"Playa", as the locals call it, is a beach-side city located on the Caribbean Sea. Once you land in Cancun airport it only takes 1 hour to get to Playa Del Carmen. Most tourist buses stop in "Playa" downtown bus station, located right on 5th Ave. and Juarez Ave. The ferry docks to Cozumel and the taxi area are located close to the bus station as well, making it easy to move from one place to another in only few minutes.

5th Ave. or "La Quinta" commonly called like this by the locals, is the main street parallel to the ocean. Only 200 meters from the white sand beaches. Along this beautiful pedestrian walkway you will find restaurants with food from all over the world, jewelery and clothing stores, coffee shops, book stores, Mexican markets and tequila shops, Cuban cigars and rum stores, beautiful hotels, bars and night clubs, no matter what you are looking for, there is nothing you can not find in this place.

Playa del Carmen never sleep, thats why night life is part of the holiday experience, there are a lot of bars to have fun and spend the night on, making "Playa" a great place to party. The after hour clubs swing into action after 12:00. These clubs are located on the beach and 12th St. away from the hotel zone on 5th Ave.

All the beaches in Playa del Carmen are public and open to all kind of travelers.
